REQUIREMENTS:
Labour Law qualifications
• 6 years working experience in a compliance environment
• 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
• Knowledge and understanding of the Labour Relations, Basic Conditions of Employment and Employment Equity
Acts
• Knowledge of the compliance workflow process
• Experience in dealing with arbitrations, drafting interlocutory applications and legal arguments
• Exposure to compliance arbitrations and demarcations
• Knowledge of the Civil Engineering Industry advantageous
• Understanding of Bargaining Councils and Industry Collective Agreements
• Sound experience of dealing with trade unions and employer’s organisations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in multiple South African official languages including English,
Xhosa, Sesotho will be advantageous

• Possession of valid driver’s license and own car – Would be required to travel extensively
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Designated Agents and oversee certain core functions of the Compliance Department with regards to the
following:
• Leadership:
o Horizon Planning – medium to long term strategic planning and translating organisational goals into business plans for implementation by all leadership levels in the organisation in conjunction with the Compliance Manager
o Human Capital Management – management and development of staff and development of organisational talent
o Financial Management – plan, monitor, organize, and control the monetary resources of the organization according to the approved budget
o Contracts/Supplier Management - identify, acquire and manage the products and/or resources required to meet the strategic goals of the organisation
o Corporate Governance – manage the system of rules, practices and processes
o Liaison- and Change Management - communication processes internally (employees & management) and externally to customers and stakeholders
o Continuous Leadership Development – develop, coach, mentor and provide feedback to employees with a view to raising the bar on leadership competence and enabling succession planning within the organisation

o Manages Member Complaints

applications in Labour Court
• To assist in Labour Court and Labour Appeal Court litigation, as well
as High Court and Magistrate’s Court litigation
• To analyse the validity of claims and making recommendations to the
Operations Manager, including the interpretation of relevant
legislation and provision of legal opinions to management
• To compile and draft heads of arguments and applications
• To design proactive and innovative litigation processes and
initiatives for BCCEI in conjunction with Operations Manager to
increase efficiencies
• To work closely with the Senior Agents and Compliance
Administration Supervisor during the execution enforcement of
arbitration award process
• To provide continuous feedback to all internal parties to ensure
alignment
